Jersey Girl Diner--Morristown

Don't Miss this Diner!

A day trip took us 50 northeast of Knoxville to Morristown, TN.   I have wanted to visit this diner for quite a while, since their ratings were so high.  I have found that small towns with a highly rated diner really does mean something.  After all, word gets around a small town and if the food is bad...they will be out of business.  Today was the day and it was worth the trip.

We arrived at 115PM and the diner was very busy.   Our greeter immediately took us to our booth and our server, Margie was right at the table.  She was charming, and fun to chat with.

Bright cheery interior and very clean!
We looked at the food coming out of the kitchen and it appears that Cheeseburgers were the hit of the day.  A special was Fried Grouper Sandwich for $6.99.  We ordered the Cheeseburger with American cheese, The Huge BLT both included the home made chips that were wonderful.  They did offer crinkle cut fries but were advised they were not home made, but frozen.  The chips were made in house.

I asked Margie, our server to surprise me with her choice and she didn't disappoint me.  A wonderful Philly Cheesesteak with grilled onions and mushrooms.   The steak was wonderfully tender and the cheese set the flavors for the entire sandwich.  I also was surprised with the wonderful house made onion rings that accompanied my sandwich.   Great seasonings were added to the crispy crust.

If you are lucky enough to be visiting  the Smoky Mountains and East Tennessee,  don't skip a trip the to beautiful town of Morristown, TN.
